"Backbone of the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Business"

Back in 1971, there were seven geologists in North Louisiana who decided to form the Shreveport Petroleum Data Association, incorporated it, and started to look for members.  We began by gathering information, electric logs, sample logs, scout tickets – all the basic tools that independent geologists needed.  From the humble beginnings this Library has grown and prospered where it has been and continues to be the backbone of the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production business in the Upper Gulf Coast region.

We have taken our Library from the 20th century into the 21st century by computerizing our data.  All this has been accomplished by the continuing contributions from our members and the superior management of our staff.
