I have been a member of the Shreveport Petroleum Data Association for many years. The SPDA staff has always been very courteous and professional, processing all requested data/logs expeditiously. As an independent geologist, access to the well data and logs in a timely manner has been vital to my business. The SPDA staff has always exceeded my expectations and I cannot say enough good things about each of them and the broad coverage that the log library comprises. I highly recommend the SPDA to any company, geologist, or other oil and gas professionals requiring this type of data
Dave Easom Petroleum Geologist
Back in 1971, there were seven geologists in North Louisiana who decided to form the Shreveport Petroleum Data Association, incorporated it, and started to look for members. We began by gathering information, electric logs, sample logs, scout tickets – all the basic tools that independent geologists needed. From the humble beginnings this Library has grown and prospered where it has been and continues to be the backbone of the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production business in the Upper Gulf Coast region.
We have taken our Library from the 20th century into the 21st century by computerizing our data. All this has been accomplished by the continuing contributions from our members and the superior management of our staff.

If you are serious about exploration in the Upper Gulf Coast, membership at SPDA is a must. They have the best data collection across the board; East Texas, South Arkansas, North Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. No one else compares.

I first joined the SPDA in 1978 and have been a member all but three of the past 39 years. My exploration efforts have allowed me to visit and use other libraries in Houston, Tyler, and Shreveport. There is no comparison! The immense collection of data, the ease of access, and the first-rate staff make SPDA the only choice for geologists working the ARK-LA-TEX and Southeastern States.
